Hmm I am not sure it is a photo bucket thing. It seems some can post one or more photos directly into a section such as this. as opposed to posting a link to something. |

all the photos were in Snowdonia except that one. I thought it was a pic that might appeal to those looking for roads and ways off the main track.
here are some more for those no so fortunate to live in such a lovely area

I'm a maybe, depending if it clashes with shows, but if there, the dribble bus, 3 delinquent dogs and the side awning. Be good this year if we can organize a how to fix it type of weekend.... |

Better make it a summer meet. Everyone seemed to get cold feet at the thought of Welsh winter meet last year. Can't think why! Suggest chief instigators start a new thread . :D _________________ Andy C L300 Super Exceed - over 100 smiles per gallon! |

Would love to do a Wales meet, just got no where to do one.
Anyone got a nice field we can take over for a weekend? _________________ There is a man with a mullet going mad with a mallet in Millets |

Try this site.
Disserth Caravan & Camping Park Howey, Llandrindod Wells, Powys LD1 6NLPowys Campsite
disserth.biz 01597 860277
Has a social room & bar.
Stayed there a few times, when motorcycle camping.
Sheltered site, with shallow river running alongside
(except in flooding periods. When Graham & Audrey ran the site, one year the site flooded, they lost a lot of memorabilia that was in the cellar )
Good spot for travelling to the Elan Valley
Nearest food = "Llandrodd" & Builth Wells.
I think Rob knows of other sites, nearer to, or at Rhayader, even better for travelling the Valley
For those of you that have not seen the Elan Valley, well now, it's quite different to any place else that Iv'e seen on the British Mainland.
Also worth seeing, the Abergwesyn to Tregaron mountain road, via the "Devil's Staircase" Very "Interesting" ride/drive, (Iv'e done both)
and a small diversion to the sight seeing spot at the Llynn Brianne Reservoir. Absolutely stunning on a sunny day
I could go on about this area. But how about a meet, to ogle this fantastic scenery. And soon.
Also good for offroad damage nutters, is Strata Florida

My good friends have a very nice large field near llanidloes, if we don't mind sharing with sheep! It's not a campsite, but I store a truck there. There is self-composting toilets only. I'm sure we could use water from their house nearby, but no shower. Would potentially be free though, but I'd like to give them a donation. They have had wedding receptions/events there so Ill speak to them and see what they say... |

I'm watching this space, Highrise. It's been a very long time since I was around that part of the Welsh borders. Very pretty part of the world, as I remember. My dad worked in Llanrhayadr-i-Mochnant. _________________ Andy C L300 Super Exceed - over 100 smiles per gallon! |

Thinking of a possible Welsh meet.
Please post in here any possible venues so as to keep Overland thread clear of Welsh thread.
(moderator can you move Welsh posts to here if possible?)
I think it is a bit late in the year to organise a summer meet in Wales.
So it will have to be an Autumal or Wintery one.
Thoughts?
I do know a nice camp site right on the beach (a rocky beach) that has good facilities and a communial hit with a large open fire.
Near Tywyn, might look into that one.
Google Cae Du Tywyn for reviews and photos etc.

Cae Du looks fantastic, but I wouldn't want to leave it too late in the year. October half term for me, if not late August. I've got a teaching contract, so not as flexible as supply. _________________ Andy C L300 Super Exceed - over 100 smiles per gallon! |
