Is there anyone out there in Scotland who can recommend a competent garage/ mechanic who is good with Delicas, I struggle to get good help with my import. I want to uprate the suspension and would like someone Delica wise. Thanks all. Andrew.
Also if there are any Delica meets up here near Glasgow I am well up for a get together.

Not sure really, it is a bit sloppy and boat like at the minute so I want to stiffen it up, I wouldn't mind raising it by an inch or two and I heard that good suspension and springs may do this. Budget will be my constraint so may have to wait if it is expensive.

Its a 2.summit tonne truck, it'll never handle, but can be raised up by longer rear springs, contact Andyj on here he sells springs, uprated, or progressive rate 2" higher then just wind up the torsion bars, but, it'll be higher so more top heavy, driven hard these trucks wear the front tyres summit rotten because the weight pushes, slides the front tyre and the rear will spin up fairly easy while doin this  Wink

That's a good point well made, I am learning from the very basics up so even " just tighten up the torsion bars" sounds daunting. I will give it a go though if there is a picture of where to do it?? Andrew

Err yeah, use the search function, top right, just need 2 17mm Spanners, oh, and arms like gorillas  Wink

But, don't touch them till you fit the rear springs or it'll handle like a bag of spanners

Oh, and believe me, these trucks lean a lot more than you'll prob ever find out  Wink

No group, me brother in law goes up Drumclog, ahv been a few times way back when we had an SJ410 (actually dropped it in a settling pond up the Tilcon quarry just by Peel Hill Cottage but thats another story...

Ah don't off road it, that would give it just another excuse to break down, its like ahv had some seriously trouble free cars in my lifetime but this big beast is like payback x 100, ah know ah should get rid of it and ah have said loads of times but it serves a purpose and its like nothing else on the road, oh and the lift, lol, "so cool" as the wee man puts it...

We should arrange a scottish meet some Saturday for the likes of Strathy Park or up Callander be even better...

That would be a great idea. Just let me know as Callander is about 45 minutes ( or £50 fuel ) away from me.
