Thought you guys would like to know, the seal kit supplied by Milners contains a sub standard front pump seal, its just a plain old Oil seal that happens to fit this aplication, its Red in colour, its made from the wrong material and you will be lucky for it to last 2 years

I have aproached Milners about this but they not taking me seriously either that or they just not bothered

there last reply was;

okay, just don't buy anymore from us
Thanks
Sandra

fantastic customer service there..

first it was sub standard balljoints, then trackrod ends.. and now pump seals, which could be potentialy dangerous with a runaway diesel

Thats Disgusting, and i use Milners quite a Lot, Although i have never had Seals, Gaskets or Rubberised items off them, only due to reaction from people on this Site.

On saying that I've just found a Mobile Fuel Pump guy on Flea-Bay.  Item number: 280710035165

zexel seals, Any Good?

Evil or Very Mad

NB: If you have bought from the internet, then you are covered by the distance selling regulations.  That allows you seven days from the day you received the goods, to allow you to inspect them, if you are not happy with them you are entitled to reject the goods and request a refund of your money.

Additionally there are possible claims here of the goods being 'unfit for purpose'

If you have also paid for the goods using a credit card, such as VISA, then you can also claim a refund from the card supplier as you have effectively bought the goods from them and they have bought them from the supplier. So if the supplier gets shirty then just advise the card supplier who will put the item into dispute, so you don't need to pay for them, until the issue is  sorted out and you get your money refunded.

The problem with the Milners seal kit is no one at Milners seems to think theres a problem with it, the guy i spoke to today never said he will look into it either!

so i guess they will carry on supplying the kit as is until they get a load of grief from people who have the same trouble 2 years on and claim for it being unfit for the application it was sold for

tbh mark i think if someones good enough to refurb a pump they can spot dodgy seals a mile off (look at yourself) and no decent diesel place will use 'em for the same reason

probably just won't sell

I wouldn't spot it if i had to do a seal meself though i would not ever want to do it unless i was very skint and more worryingly what seals are sitting in their refurbed pumps they sell.

I fitted a new seal in a pump in Hatfield earlier this year, the guy just brought it and the pump looked to been refurbed as it was painted up but just the pump body not the pipework, and that had the wrong seal fitted to it......

Unhelpful Sandra at milners said they have sold 100s of them in the last 5 months alone.
