My heater fan only blows on full, and not very warm at that, the intermediate settings blow nothing. Is this a silly simple thing, or does the control box have to come out and find a new one or ...............?

I thought it was the fan motor and have replaced it with a scrap one but it seems to have made no difference.

Looking forward to your generous advice warming me up a little, thanks Guys, and girls,

Fay

If there's no obvious mechanical problem to see then I'd make sure I'd flush the water / antifreeze through as you can get air locks / blockages in the system. Also is your thermostat working okay? In fact is there one in it?

Which type of aircon control have you? - Is it the sliding knobs one or the digital display type?

What happens when you swith the rear control on? Do you get heat coming through into the back?

I'm sure someone will be on in a minute to give you a detailed diagram of the entire system!

When I say 'nothing comes out' I mean the fan only comes on with the heater control in the max position, the first four stops don't initiate the fan motor. The heater is pretty wimpy considering the rufty tufty nature of the beast.

The temperature gauge usually sits  at the halfway mark.

Try this PDF file and see if it helps to locate the problem http://Delica.107net.ru/L400/CHASSIS/PWEE9410_L400_95_CHASSIS_55.pdf

Possibly the resistor that controls fan speed it lives behind the glovebox i think as to the warmth of the air er may be just a flap stuck or a blocked matrix needing a flush but you could bleed the system first with the little plastic nut by the battery on the bulkhead.

Well glory be, I'll put money on that. I've got warm air coming through and the fan motor works so as soon as I can I'm going ferreting around behind the glove box.

Bless you Deli owners.

That was the little b#*ger giving me cold feet, thank you hotchpotch.

The back of it does not seem to be much like yours though, as the photographs would show, if I could attach them!

There is a solder 'fuse' arrangement that had sprung apart. I've soldered it back together but am fairly sure it will go again. anybody know what I should ask for, and where I might get one?

probably solve it around June!

It just occurred to me that I did replace the heater motor. The last one, though working was a bit trolleyed, so the solder joint might just hold.

Just....just thank you MDOCUK, thank you. All heater controls working as they should.

First the heater motor was banjaxed, but that banjaxing had caused the fuse on the resistor bank to blow, and replacing the motor didn't fix that. Without the forum I'd never have found the resistor bank.

thanks again...... now for the sunroof cog reversal carry on.

This thread is ten years old and the Russian website closed down ages ago.

Fay stopped posting many years ago after selling the Deli.

It was bought by Brett Hill, stripped for parts and scrapped.
