|

For my sins have aquired a caravan....after all the years cursing "caravan users" seems might be an idea. Have been towing a trailer tent but "er indoors" has decided we need a little more comfort in our "old age". Question Overdrive in or out when towing ?and 2WD or 4WD.? L400 Delica.
All suggestions welcome. |

I would say od on but off for going up and down hills to give a bit of oomph or braking and four wheel drive all the time but thats me there will be totally different opinions.

I don't touch the o/d - i tried it once when towing, the button popped out, never to be seen again - i spent the rest of the holiday gaffer taping ripped up napkins into where the button used to live.
It was a lovely holiday, dead hot..................which obviously meant the gaffer tape heated up and kept slipping of the stick.
Towing - I always insist on 4WD...............and thats coz in 2WD my diff light flashes...........hmmm really need to look at that. :?
I love my Deli, but sometimes i get the feeling she don't like me much. _________________ The designation "skunk works", or "skunkworks", is widely used in business, engineering, and technical fields to describe a group within an organization given a high degree of autonomy and unhampered by bureaucracy, tasked with working on advanced or secret projects. |

Or just leave the wife at home. Then at least you can have fun as well. _________________ 2nd gear low and go go go!

I always tow with the overdrive switched on and use 2WD when its dry but 4WD in the wet.
I also find its better to use the A/T switch to select PWR when faced with a steep or long hill
Hope this helps |

Even with my big twin axe i normally leave o/d on and only take it off on hills and the like, 2WD normally and 4WD in the mud. |
