Anyone know where I can buy the top radiator hose from.

I noticed the other day while removing the intercooler  that the intercoolers fan housing has been rubbing on the top hose (poor fit by previous owner) so would like to replace it as it leaves a weak spot on the hose.

Thanks

Gary

OLD POST

If you look closely you may see that your intercooler fan housing is touching the radiators top hose.

The housing eventually cuts through the top hose.   Shocked

This is easily rectified with a piece of hose attached to the fan housing via 2 self tapping screws.

Now my top hose is held off the fan housing by a soft piece of hose, as you can see it does the job and its an easy fix.

Yes I had a bit of black rubber door trim which fitted nice but if you push the intercooler up while doing the bolts up it does not touch the hose.
if you just put it in place and do the bolts up it does touch.
Mine is now worn so needs replacing

On most of the L400's I've looked at the hose touches when hot, remember when the coolant is hot the pipe expands, it also lifts itself up when under pressure ie when your driving. Shocked

I think a new one will be a Mitsubishi gen part only, but shouldnt be too much £££.

Good point  guess I will have to ring the main deal problem is it's a 40 mile round trip for me.
Just read someone else had the same problem and they bent the steel fan housing up in the area it touches and job done, guess I will go that route or maybe cut a small section out as don't want it touching at all.
