My Delica recently started clonking during low speed steering. Obviously it was a ball joint or track rod end. WRONG!. The rack itself (in the steering rack) is clonking up and down.

Has anybody else had this? Are spares available for the rack if I tackle stripping it down or is it..........buy a new or recon? Crying or Very sad Any info would be appreciated.

I've had the boots off and it is definately the rack itself moving in its bearings/bushes.

I've been to the mits dealer, heard the price of a new rack, was surprised at the language the parts manager used when he saw how much they were! Unfortunately there are no mits spares available for this.

Am planning to strip the rack and see if I can fix it!
