Hello all
I've got a CB radio. One of many things I never got around to fitting in my land rover.
I was wondering what to do with it. Does anyone still bother with CB nowadays? It could be a laugh to have one but only if there's other people out there using it as well!
It seems a fairly redundant technology now that we're entering the star trek age with our new fangled personal communicators 😀
Didn't you have to register and pay a fee to someone to broadcast legally?
Cheers

Doesn't Google give an answer? I am a slow adopter - I've got a period Sony Walkman connected to my head unit for playing my original '70s and '80s cassettes. Nothing like a bit o' hiss and the wow and breakup of a stretched and crumpled tape for nostalgia! I just have to remember not to play it over the bumps! _________________ Andy C L300 Super Exceed - over 100 smiles per gallon! |

I bought a handheld unit about 5 years ago for a bit of nostalgia but couldn’t find anyone on it so the nostalgia trip was very short lived. They were great fun back in the 80’s _________________ 3.0 V6, Auto. 2005 |

I still have mine, which works on both UK and EU frequencies, but quit using it when the airwaves became too full of plonkers and excessively foul language.
It was very useful, with the squelch set high, when only very close transmissions were received, for use in offroad convoys.

No licence required, as of December 2006.
