Well i suppose someone has to start it off. 1st. It was very nice to meet some of the club, and some of the Elgrand club. I had a nice little chatter with one or two of you. Me the missus and two of the kids where really looking forward to the lights, only, to be dissapointed by the 3 hours to get only about 4/5 miles. we had to turn around just after the Traffic lights where the police were directing traffic. it seems to me that they didn't want us there. All other traffic was getting escorted through and we where left beebing our horns... that was very frustrating. BUT as i said i really enjoyed meeting some of you :D

I intended to pick Lynn up from Wigan at 9am ish....but ended up late having rear ended a car at a roundabout... The car wasn't touched, but Milo now has a dent in his bonnet... 37 yrs of driving and the first thing ever...
Anyway, got to Blackpool a bit later than intended, after my usual diversion in the wrong direction....
It was good to see the amount of vehicles there, and we did a good turn out with, at one point, 12 Mitsis...so thank you everyone who came...
It was nice to meet old friends and new, and see vans that I hadn't seen before...
Milo now has a set of 'pod lights' for the roof, to compliment his new dent.......actually I've rung my brother and he's going to get the dent out for me....but the pod lights look superb... They won't be wired up, just sit on the roof.....but the colour of them matched Milo's interior....
The lights.....the bobby riding up and down the road bringing all the traffic past us was rude and obnoxious.....no people skills at all and obviously didn't want a convoy clogging up his road. Every one sat for ages and ages, and traffic was being let through from other diretions, and escorted past us while we were left there. I saw a few of the Toyotas pull out and go too. Eventually, me and Lynn had to call it a day and leave, we were both so tired, and I thought best err on the side of safety and go rather than stay and get so tired that I would be iffy driving back down the M6 to Lynn's later. I managed to get down the line far enough to say goodbye to Duracelbunny and Midnightwolf, so sorry to everyone else that I didn't get to say goodbye to you.
Nice pics John...

Hi
looked great from the pics, i know my visit was sort lived as i arrived at 6:45 then lost you as we needed toliets, found you all again then sat in traffic jab for nearly 2 hours
kids were hungry so we shot off, but what we actually did was take the back roads to Bispham went for sit down fish and chips at the Bispham Kitchen which were great then went through from the other end and passed a few of the reamaning vehicles
the problem with it was that we started in the wrong place and we were too late for a clear run it would of been better to of set off from the industrial estate near the airport that way we would of been in the flow or from Bispham
I also think that having done the lights for many years that that was the busiest i had ever seen it we didn't clear them until after 11pm but got home just before 1am !!
oh well nice to see so many of you and the "Bling" but i have to say those Elgrands do look nice :?

If you look at the amount of motors that are lined up to go through in convoy, I do feel it is a shame that so many of us went expecting a police escort, only to find that we had to 'go it alone' and had such a wait, queuing, getting broken up etc. Which makes me feel a bit sorry that I advertised it on here....
Having done quite a few light runs, it was only the 'police escort' that prompted me to do it again....and we didn't know that wasn't happening till we were due to set off.... The bobby on the bike gave me the distinct impression he didn't want us there....
And a lot were expecting a BBQ and hadn't taken any food with them....
No tour of the Lifeboat station either....
But on the good side, it was great of the Lifeboat crew to let the meet be held on their ground, as that sort of area for a meet on the sea front is nigh on impossible to find... so a big thanks to them...

Nice to meet some of you peeps. Look forward to next meet I can attend. I think I was the 2nd to abandon, turning my Deli at pontins before i even seen one light !!! (1st to jump was the bloke in van in front going to toilet at lytham !!!!! just as well as he would have been well stuck if he waited...) However I am local so can go and see lights another time.
What time did yous get to the start of the lights ?. It 8 oclock when i turned round. |

The one who jumped ship for the loos was Andyrep....and he appeared again out of thin air in front of me a bit further up the road...
I thought it was a stranger joining us....till he got out and I saw who it was...
He'd cut down some back streets and got in front of us...

My pleasure...
Just sorry it didn't pan out as planned for everyone...
Still, it was good to see everyone again, and Milo got his new light pod too...

Hi all
Good to meet up with you all on Saturday and nice to see a good selection of well turned out Deli's as well as having the opportunity of viewing vehicles from the other owners clubs 8-)
Unfortunately the convoy fell apart due to various reasons, mainly the amount of traffic and the subsequent time it took to drive the few miles to the lights
We finally give up at approx 10.15pm just as we were approaching the pleasure beach
However the fish & chips were great, the weather stayed dry so for us is was a good meet :D
No regrets, thats life I suppose, just look forward to the next meet with you all
Well done Ange
Regards

Black elgrand, black windows, load's of body kit, big flashy wheels = D**g dealer...............
That's what they look like to me.............
