We have a Coachman and the build quality is fantastic... Ours is the Amara which is base model but shows some top spec from other manufacturers to shame.
All be it does come at a cost...or more accurately weight. _________________ 100% BIO DIESEL ! Well not quite at the moment

i had a coachman !
the baily caravan is a VERY keen priced new van, you get what you pay for ??
i would join the camping caravn club forum and ask 1 of them to go with you.
at the end of the day, if the speck is what you want ( island bed or whatever ) then get the best you can afford, this van may be the 1st and last you buy.....
the last one i had was a hobby, some sites don't like them because of the background to the van's but i found the van FANTASTIC....
the reason i bought it was because it fitted what i wanted. i wanted a van to put on a site for the season, so this was BIG and full speck queen size bed, i also rented it out and every 1 was over the moon with it...... _________________ if no man is an island, how come we have the isle of man ?

Are you saying Bailey is as good as a coachman ? or that they are better value ?
I must admit we went for the Coachman as we loved the feel inside the van, and we did end up paying a little more than we budgeted for but I think it was worth the extra as it is solid.
Sometimes I wish it was lighter so smaller vehicles could pull it but everytime we think about parting company we think how the hell we are going to replace such a fantastic van.
The only thing I'd swap it for now is a larger Coachman such as a 640/6 with the end bathroom, permanent bunks and dinette/bunks it weighs even more but I know we'd love it.
Best thing is we've found a 1 year old 640/6 for £9500 which hadn't been used and cost close on £20k...only thing is we don't have the cash right now _________________ 100% BIO DIESEL ! Well not quite at the moment

Not knowing anything about Hobby vans (except most of the ones I've seen are huge!), could you explain what their background is and why some sites don't like them? I'm curious is all :? ?
Cheers,
John. |

You may find insurance an issue as well apparently, from what I was told by other Deli owner whilst on a campsite a couple of years ago _________________ 100% BIO DIESEL ! Well not quite at the moment

hey chris the coachmans are an excellent van, the only reason we didn't get one was because of the weight, the missus was gutted as she also liked the amara with the island bed. but at the time we only had a volvo S60 to pull it with. put the van on the back and it's ass hit the floor, so we swapped it for the Deli. never looked back. _________________ L400 GREEN OVER GREY 2.8 TD CRYSTALITE ROOF.BORN TO LIVE..BORN TO DRIVE..

You say that but our Mondeo estate we had before the Deli towed it better !!!
We have to be super careful when we pull off the drive now as it scrapes the floor...it never did in the Mondeo
Hence why me thinks rear springs are in order !!
Just can't decide which, cheap Landy ones, ProComp or Ironman ???
don't really want to go the cheap Landy route as I'd prefer to have vehicle specific units in ( as my wife, kids and dogs will be with me ) or spend more and get one of the others :? _________________ 100% BIO DIESEL ! Well not quite at the moment

procomp importers advertise on the back of landrover monthly say official importers of procomp.
as to baily caravans we went to brean this weekend and saw some, they are just the same.
they are still low budget basic vans, found2 vans with badly sealed wall tapes and 1 celing tape coming off.
BUT the wife found one model that she really likes, like i said horses for courses, we want a van with bunks and baily are doing one with 3 bunks on top of each other. and sliding wall, perfect for us at the end of the day you get what you need.... _________________ if no man is an island, how come we have the isle of man ?
