The recall info i posted up earlier in this thread was for an earlier version of the L300 apparently Wink

Dear Mr. Alderton, Re: Mitsubishi Delica I can inform you that we have received a response from Mitsubishi Motors Japan regarding outstanding recalls on the above vehicle. I can inform you that your vehicle is covered by the fuel pump cold start lever check. Please book your vehicle into your local Mitsubishi dealership and the work will be carried out free of charge. Yours Sincerely, HARRY HODGSONCustomer Services Advisor

okay next question is... even though we had the worse winter out for a long time, always started first turn of the key.... okay i always have to let her tick over for a couple of minutes... no matter what the weather is.... but used to this as my old paj was exactly the same.....serviced them both and didn't alter a thing..... serviced the Deli last weekend, fuel in filter was black.... air filter was clogged... really did need it... but Can't tell no difference when driving, only piece of mind i guess.... okay so question is... will having work done on cold start lever help the lumpy start I'm so used to? i was half led to believe that the cold start was only in extreme cold weather....is it worth the hours travel to have work done? guess it depends on if it stops the lumpy start.. thanks anyways   Steve

hi no the cold start lever won't help its only a precautionary recall
as for fuel filter being black inside thats usually a symptom of front pump seal on its way out ths will also cause lumpy cold start and stalling      spanners

Black oil in with the fuel in the filter... get that seal seen to, possibly have diesel in with your engine oil too, which is bad news for lubrication of big ends etc.

My Deli also has this on the recall notice:

I got "Work not done" on the fuel pump recall too.

I called my local Mitsi garage this morning and they could not help but gave me the number for customer services. I called them and got a lady called Victoria, she was great, no having to ask about, she said straight away that she will contact the factory and get back to me within a week. If the work does need doing a letter will be sent out for me to take to the local dealer.
Customer service number 01285 655777.

I'l report back with what she has to say and how long it takes etc

Kala.

Well it took a little longer than the promised week but I got a letter dated the 5th June from Victoria Rolfe at customer services stating that the response from Mitsubishi motors confirms that my vehicle is included in the fuel pump cold start lever recal and to contact my local dealer to get the work completed FOC.

Booked in for next Monday as a wait job where they check if it needs doing and then back if it does at a later date once they have ordered the parts in.

I will keep you informed.

Cheers
Kala
