Despite the forecast for awful weather, and with many areas of the country flooded, some of us got together for a meet on the beach.

It wasn't long before five of us were assembled. Rolling Eyes  It was a bit blustery, but we could see some blue sky(not a lot :? )
The line up was ;2wdSteve, morecider, Hillbilly, Us and IanFJ.

Things were shaping up nicely. We were all enjoying the beach, the Delis , and the company.

Then this guy turns up in his Ice-cream van;

Well that was the last of the good weather on the beach. We had a little team building exercise , rigging up Steve's mitsi awning with no poles.

I nipped back to the campsite with Steve to pickup another shelter, and get the legs for steve's awning. It looked like it might brighten up Laughing  Laughing

With some more team building, shelter rigging, we were all able to shelter from the rain. Laughing  Laughing

Unfortunately, we got absolutely drenched putting the shelters up  Rolling Eyes  Rolling Eyes and it wasn't long before the bar-b-que started to sink in the sand, so we decided to retreat to the camp site for dry clothes.

Talk about wishful thinking;

Back at the campsite, Ian and Joan were soon taking control of the bar-b 8-)

Feeding the hungry campers Laughing  Laughing

We were joined by Steve , Karin  and family(sbrown)in the afternoon.  They made our numbers up to five at the campsite :D  :D

2WD steve was tucked away behind Ians Fridge /freezer combo Laughing  Laughing

It was a perfect afternoon for drying Steves awning;

More of Deli's

We had a good social in the evening, and it all seemed to turn out quite nicely.

Thanks for organizing and taking part to all those who did.

We had a great time , and enjoyed seeing Ian and Joan's new addition, meeting new members , and catching up with the veterans.

Sorry we didn't get chance to say good bye to everyone,

Looking forward to the next meet already

Cheers , Dave .

Dave's covered the high lights of the weekend, just a few piccies from us:

Chez Dave & Rosie

Chez Ian & Joan (The Escapod)

Our first dinner form the Escapod's galley

The Fridge and Freezer as Dave has christened them!

Conviviality at the Teardrop Inn

At least someone enjoyed the weather

I think the weekend lived up to the old saying "what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger"

It was great to meet some new folk as well as the old hands and to welcome some Deli meet virgins.

Ian & Joan

It was a shame you couldn't make it Dave.
I know the campsite was a bit waterloged, but there were one or two tents about.
It's a great site, close to the beach, and very clean facilities. Because its a bit out of season it was only £20 for the two nights on a hard standing.
I know that the diesil getting to and from meets, is often the most expensive part of the weekend Rolling Eyes  Rolling Eyes  Rolling Eyes .

Hope to catch you on the next one mate.

Maybe a New-Forest do next year, on a campsite  Question  Question

Cheers, Dave

Looks like you all had a great time and made the best of the bad weather  :D
Sorry we missed it we were in sunny (not) Wales as it was our grandaughter's 5th birthday party, so we made a weekend of it in our caravan .

Will try to make the next one  :D

WOW , the more I look around the forums the more I am getting hooked on the whole Deli deal !

We will defo be up for attending the next meet in April, I guess we contact the site individually to arrange the amount of space needed , 1 Deli 3 small tents or 1 large tent for us and the 4 kids.

We love camping in all conditions and have had such a laugh reading the post's and looking at the photos  Laughing

Hopefully we can meet new friends and enjoy a future of Deli motoring  Razz
