|
|
Well after the success of the July BBQ time to plan the next one
Looking at Sunday 14th of September....
need location... some were we can get a place to ourselves again like at Formby.
Formby would be nice again but I'm aware that many of you guys traveled from Stoke and Yorkshire to be there, so wondering is there somewere more central to the North ??
Thinking Rochdale way ? or some were not to far the motorway network so its easy to get to.....
Or we could do Formby again... it was great, space, friendly rangers and safe for kids and pets to play....
ideas guys.... please _________________ Regards

Hi Everyone
Great day we had today
My suggestion is Hollingworth Lake Country Park in Rochdale
Ideal for adults and kids
A couple of decent pubs
Amusements
Fish and chips
5 mins off motorway
A couple of gift shops
Caravan and camping near bye |

I agree Tonka, my wife and little one are frequent visitors to Hollingworth Lake, it's a lovely location! We generally walk the 2 and a half mile round the lake.
Decent size car park too, plenty of room to fit a few Deli's :D
Sounds like a good idea to me _________________ . 92 L300 Exceed, Corse Grey/Grace Silver (with some bits of red)

Yeah mate decent size car park with grass verges and benches, should be plenty of room for noshing
Its a couple of quid to park though but that shouldnt cause any problems I wouldn't have thought (unless we are all bankrupt by then!)

Well there is a small car park near the boating lake and a very large car park at the vistors centre . Cafe situated there and a kids playground , picnic area i think don't no about bbq ! Should be loads of room for delis ,small car park charge .
Or we could camp and make a weekend of it ? |

Sounds ideal... will take butties this time then...
So...
lets make it a combined Lancashire, Merseyside, Staffordshire, Yorkshire (+ anyone else who can come) meet :D
So Sunday 14th September 1pm ... should be good :D
Remember there is JAE show end August, I know its down south but looks like a nice place for a long weekend / camping and plenty of nice motors for petrol heads !! _________________ Regards

I will try to make this if I can. Too early to say just yet.
I was born and brung up in Littleborough. I played around and on t'lake when it was just a reservoir.
The most exciting thing in those days was to climb through Rakewood to watch the Irish navvies building the motorway.

I will try to make it too.
Remember building the motorway there,
Most exciting thing was being watched by the kids who had climbed up from the reservoir . |

If it's still the 14th September,
If it's still Hollingworth Lake,
If it's still Delicas,
If I can find clean undies.
Then I'll be there. 8-)

We would be really interested in going to this but are a little apprehensive as it will be our first meet. Is it a day or a weekend meet? Do you bite???? lol. What do we need to bring? I know it sounds soft but I'm a bit nervous till I get to know people. |
