Looking now for suggestions for venues AND how many people are generally interested in some laning or something, with the families etc., around christmas time.

Some places to go would be a good start ???. Obviously we would have to see how the weather progresses and how many people are interested.
This is something i'm intending to do with my kids anyway, but was thinking if theres as any of you out there who want to make some use of the 4WD on yours Deli's this could be the ideal chance.

I'd like to get a rough idea of people and venues, actual dates we Can't plan until the weather turns and will probably only be a day or two's notice.

As long as theres a few of us to go, I don't mind travelling further afar, which with a few of us together, would make it more safer as we'd be able to help each other out, etc.

Anyone interested ?

Anyone suggest venues/places ?

Hi Alan
Well the nearest lanes are the ones between Shaftesbury and Salisbury. 2 in particular are the 'Oxdrove' and 'Stratford Tony' lanes. These can be found on Ordnance Survey Landranger Map 184. I was intending to sort a route out probably in the new year for a treasure hunt of our own. (Having participated in a Pocuk organised one). I would need help in this i.e. recceing the route for safety etc. As you know I can't do it in the immediate future due to various problems Rolling Eyes But as soon as poss I'll get in touch.... Wink

Hey, this is getting a bit of attention Smile Shocked I've been looking at my maps again and also found some lanes around the Test Valley area connecting thro to the Salisbury area. (OS Landranger Sheet 185)
As soon as My Deli and I are well enough, I will make a point of taking an recce.

""17 December 2004

Met Office forecasters are saying today that the chances of snow on Christmas Day 2004 are definitely in the balance as weather patterns for the big day look set to keep sledges on standby across the UK.""

Is the best I can manage at the moment, i'll start a post for snow reports.

All things being well, I should be up around the Salisbury area with my new toy just after Chrimbo. Well up for some dirty fun, and to see how it compares to my Landy!

Definately free 27th onwards, but might nip out christmas eve late, if theres some nice white stuff about.
All depends how accurate the weatherman is atm, but it looks promising.

Merry chrimbo all btw Smile

Hi,

Its snowing up on Exmoor at the moment, about two inches at present. We had six inches the other day which melted, managed to get stuck in a three foot snow drift, deep joy, tractor and chain soon got me going again. Lots of RUPPs here, good fun either on four or two wheels. Does anyone know of any others in this area?
