Jet wash your engine bay?  I didn't realise you could do that, thought it would bu88er up the electrics or something.

Diesels arn't quite as prone to the problem like a petrol engine is.

I  pressure wash mine.

My battery terminals have rubber coverings so first its a nice gently sprinkle and left for everything to soften up.

Then I use a wide angle bendy (adjustable) attachment, so I can get down the side of the engine block etc.

The underside of the bonnet gets a real good blasting then its left up for a while to drain off.  Then I take if for a run to help warm things up and help it dry out. Well thats my excuse for a drive anyway.  Wink

Nice one Lewis.  Forgot to mention the bleating noises as well. Laughing   Anyway good news bout washing the engine, I honestly didn't realise you could do that,  just jetwashed the motor today but was cautious about doing the engine bay so didn't bother.  Will do it during the week now I know its okay and underside of the bonnet, that looks as if it's been dug up after 100 years or something.  So the engine.... You can actually blast it with a strong stream of water then?

Be careful not to blast the intercooler or radiator too closely, these are quite delicate and a strong jet wash will destroy the vanes. Also try not to get too close to any electrical connectors, I know it's difficult because they're scattered all over the engine bay but just try not to blast them a lot, it's a good idea to spray any connectors with WD40 or similar straight after washing so as to flush any water out of them  Wink

I did actually give my engine bay a quick going over today along with the rest of the Paj (I was out laning again on Friday) just to stop it getting too built up in there  Laughing

Laughing Yes I forgot to mention that!  Which is daft having spent the best part of a Saturday afternoon and evening using a pair of flat faced grips to straighten mine up after the first go last February.  Rolling Eyes

Thanks for the advice guys, will try and make sure I don't knacker up the intercooler vanes with the jet wash.  Incidentely some of the vanes on mine are bent anyway, don't know how they got like that though. Will try and do what Lewis did with the flat faced grips.  Oh, I also have an industrial leaf blower at work so maybe I could use that to dry things out quicker once I've washed the engine.

Know what you mean about the crud still coming off Noisey.  Went under the Deli to fit new rear arb bushes and got a facefull of it, most of it went in my eyes and I swore a lot.  Thought I'd gotten rid of it all. How wrong I was.  Laughing

sorry weve been out of it for a while guys, computer went down due to a power surge. had to replace most things so am now trying to catch up on everything. fistly took Deli to a mates garage and got about half a ton of corwens finest topsoil out of the wishbones whilst he fitted new rear exhaust andtook off bash plates. done an oil and filter change and noticed the front wishbone bush kaput, also the rear diff seal, got parts just got to do it. Shocked
question for mark ,what happened to the gentle off road bit, okay for bog standard Deli? ha ha. really enjoyed it though, and yes would do it again. Wink  Wink
