Hi All, I need your advice. Every time I start my engine, (engine is still cold) and try to accelerate, i am hearing a whistling sound. But after a while or maybe when the engine is already warm, the whistling sound is gone.
Does anyone of you encountered this? What is the cause? Is it just the fan belts? I tried loosening and tightening the belts but got no luck.
Thanks! |

Hi there matey not sure what it is but could it be the turbo warming up?if it goes when warm could it be that? The turbo makes a whistling sound also so just wonder if it could be that warming and getting into the flow of things ?
Have you checked all the pipes etc for security and also the air filter as well just in case shes trying to breathe to hard with a clogged /dirty filter?

At start up, (For L300's ) build your revs up slowly. oil can take up to 20 secs to reach your turbo, again at shut down, allow 30 secs at idle for turbo to slow down and still be lubricated. Ask anyone, best to change oil every 5000 miles. Otherwise turbo goes sluggish.
Hope it helps

p.s. again for L300's --- Crossland air filter 958k £5 +vat ...at most local supplier. |
