Has anyone fitted on of thoses expanders to their radios? Just tried to fit one ( purchased on a popular auction site) and although I can pick up more stations, it still won't go beyond 90mhz. An ideas??

The display will never go beyond 90 MHz as this is what the Jap stereos go up to. all the expander does iscram the whole of the UK FM band into the small space up to 90 MHz. Proper tuning can be a bit of a 'mare.
Best bet really is to junk the Jap spec radio and fit a decent new CD/tuner - especially as good JVCs can be had for under £100 fitted.

Road Radio here in Brighton, well Hove actually. But also worth browsing through some of the on-line places - www.dabs.com and loads of others are pretty good. Road Radio were doing a JVC CD/tuner for £97 fitted.

Got shot of the "house-brick" stereo as soon as we bought ours...put a nice lickle Alpine MP3 player in instead, Mitsubishi actually do a single DIN sleeve to take up the gap...cause by the look of it some Delicas came with a singe DIN stereo instead of the double brick one mine had in it...and it all then goes in nice and snug... :D ...went for the MP3 player cause 1] I did not want the xtra hassle of tryin' to fit the disc cartridge somewhere else [multi-changer route] & 2] I can make my own albums with the "back-up" copies of my CD collection...[ Shocked

Replacemens I'm looking at have cd, tape and radio, most of what I listen to is on tape,(will catch up with the 21st century some day) don't like the Idea of a tray but may be persuaded. don't they look naff?

...fairy nuff dude...and totally understand if you need to use cassettes...as for the tray lookin' naff...no, it looks fine, mine is "under" the stereo, and is just like a pocket which I use to hold me sunglasses/mp3 player remote/tunnel change/etc...the main prob with ours was the "brick" had one of them "wot-ma-flips" fitted so we could tune into British stations...but you did not get the correct display, so channels were a bit hit and miss...and havin' a young family, my teenage daughters couldn't fathom out "cassettes"... Laughing

...so CD's were a real priority...
