Got the outside of the Deli washed off at Abingdon.

But that left underneath and the engine compartment:

With a parjero you can just blast away with the pressure washer! But that would rather mess up the Deli's interior.

So a bit of plastic was used:

Then controlled cleaning with a brush and hose, followed by a surgical strike with the pressure washer. It only took all of Saturday morning! Clean:

That left the underside, so up on the ramps and take all the underbody protection off:

To expose the mess:

All cleaned up, but what does all that piping do!!

Still have not straightened the number plate bracket, next weekend's job.

Sorry Hawk, I have to say I did laugh when I saw the picture of your engine!!! Can't imagine how you got it in that state!!

So is it safe to say you are not doing it all again at Cannock this weekend?

Well, just got mine 'reasonably' clean and I am. Thought I would leave the steps in the upright position just in case!!

Rikyuu - you are correct, I won't be at Cannock!

As to how it got so bad - under the L300 is a sloping baffle that directs the air flow up into the radiator and engine compartment. When I went throught the water slash it must have worked like the water scoop on a steam train and filled the engine compartment with muddy water.

(Note: You'll have to be a certain age or an anorak to know how about steam trains and water scoops - the Flying Scotsman has one!)
