Has antbody had any dealings with these type of screens?
There are lots of them available via Ebay, and you can fit them almost anywhere but are they any good or just cheap s*&t!
Is there a difference between TFT and LCD?
Wish my Deli would hurry up and arrive, it may stop my mind running away thinking of bits I want to add/change!!!!
Cheers

The TFT screens have a faster eresponse time than the LCD screens. But most people get the two mixed up and wouldn't know the difference anyway. I'm after a couple of largish (maybe up to 10 or 11 inch) TFT screens (no DVD or TV tuner, just screens) for my Deli at the moment. If I come across any decent ones I'll let you know. Same for you - please let me know what you find. _________________ Pete

Pete,
Have a look at ebay item no.5722436857 or is that to big? Same seller has lots of other options, as do many other sellers(all of which I have no connection with!) incase anybody is wondering.
Pete I was thinking of waiting till you buy one so I could learn from your mistakes, would that be okay?
I am also looking just for screens, may go for an indash or pair of sun visor ones in the front and a pair of 7"or8" in the rear as I think thats all my limited knowledge would manage to install without risk of letting the magic smoke escape, leaving me with no electrics!
Going back to the item I mentioned, that is a TFT LCD??????
Now I am confused.
Cheers

TFT is the more modern & reliable replacement to LCD.
And they are just cheap everywhere now- volumes of production - I expect they'll supercede CRT's as the TV screen of choice soon. _________________ Eminent Exceed.

Macca, I'd had a look at them but am a bit worried about some of his neg feedback. Knowing the way my luck has been the past couple of weeks I'd be one of the unlucky ones for sure! What makes me laugh though is people complaining they've received a bill for duty and VAT - think some people are a bit lacking in their research skills _________________ Pete

@Pete
I got a 11.3" Lcd screen (inc TV) + portable Dvd player from various eBay suppliers (After careful research ) Screen cost £120 and Dvd was about £70ish I think. If you or anyone is interested, I'll try to dig out the receipts and/or website addresses etc. Both came with 240AC adapters and 12v DC leads and I'm pleased with both 8) _________________

Hi Russ.
Definitely interested in knowing who you got them from, if you don't mind digging out the receipts! The screen mainly as I'm sorted for DVD player (spoilt for choice with laptop and XBOX which I've been told by the kids is going to have to go in there as well! _________________ Pete

I've got a chipped xbox running a standard (14 inch) tft computer screen through an adapter. the modded xbox will store around 100 films AND thousands of games AND 100s of hours of music. XBOX audio output is 5.1 surround. running on a mains inverter that should keep the brats quiet for hours _________________ I love the MDOCUK - it rocks here! |

i chipped my xbox myself. very complicated. probably best to try and find one thats already been done.
as for the screen mounting, I've got an L300 so the nice people at mitsubishi have built a nice sold platform behind the front seats. have just bolted the screen to that. _________________ I love the MDOCUK - it rocks here! |
