|

Picked up my '94 Delica LWB today and am chuffed to beans with it appart from a knocking noise from the front suspension. Happens when i am riding on a rough road surface, although not all the time. Have not had time to look at it yet, although it does have a new MOT on it. Just wondering if anyone out there can inform me of any common susspension/steering problems, or at least point me in the right direction.
Think i may have heard the noise whilst cranking it over earlier but can't be sure? Is there anything under there that can come loose?
Any help will be much appreciated.

Ali, I had the same problem on mine, it turned out to be the Anti-roll bar link arms which had worn and become loose. I had mine done under warranty but I did hear that the parts were £40 per arm (2 required).
Hope this is of some help.

Milners do the Front Anti-Roll Bar Links for £18.00+vat per corner
(or as Tim said £40 an arm)
The hardest part in changing them is getting the nuts undone There bl00dy tight _________________ Beat

hi, I had the same thing on my Delica I bought recently with a new MOT. There's some debate as to whether they are MOTable, but I think the should be as part of the suspension.
JC imports where I got it from have offered to pay for the repair.
Easily found some play in one of them using a bar between the outer part of the anti roll bar and the suspension arm. Had this swapped as I couldn't shift it, garage had to cut it off in the end. Even if you can shift the nut, the ball joint may just swivel. You can stick an allen key in the end, but mine just got twisted.
Turns out the other was knacked too, but not so noticably so it's back at the garage to have it replaced.
Garage charged an hours labour and I got the part from Milners as above. |

Thanks for the info, will check them out once it stops raining
If they are to blame think I'll start hitting them with the penetrating fluid as lots of you appear to have had problems with the bolts. By the time the parts arrive hopefully it may make a difference.
Do the parts from milners come with new rubbers or are they separate items |

Had a look under her today...between the showers...and the general concensus was right. The anti-roll-bar links are absolutly shot, so thank you all. Didn't even need a bar to see the free play in them, they are just flopping all over the place. Will order a pair on Monday, and be applying plenty of WD-40 in the mean time. |
