hi guys, just a quick question, which way does the EGR flow, from the engine block away, or towards it?

i think my plate is leaking, and i only have 1 of the compressable steel gaskets to try and seal it

also anyone know where i can get one mail order? been onto ryders mitsubishi liverpool for a month, phoned 4 times and they just keep on fobbing me off, (this and one of the new bus bars too...)

cheers

Air flows from the exhaust manifold, via the curved metal pipe, to the EGR valve, then into the inlet manifold.   Where it mixes with air brought in through the downpipe from the turbo intercooler.  You should only need to take out the single gasket that is fitted, as shown in the photo, and slide in your blanking plate.  Provided both the faces of the inlet manifold and EGR valve are smooth and clean you should not need any gasket paste at all.  Before spending any money first ensure that you have tried cleaning them off.

thanks lewis..i cleaned off both sides before i fitted the plate, so ill try and place the compressable steel gasket on the engine block side, if the other side is coming from the exhaust manifold anyway shouldnt make a difference

cheers :D
