|
|
Hi All,
Do we ever have any meets up north?
All the meetings seem to go on down South and although i would love to attend & love driving my Delica :D its a long way from Newcastle
I notice we are getting more & more members in the North and just wonderd if we ever have any local (ish) meets?
It would be no use me trying to organise anything i'm hopeless (p... up in a brewery spring to mind ) but i would be willing to help.
If anyone else fancies taking up the gauntlet i'm sure a lot of Northeners like myself, would be more than happy to make the effort to attend
For those of us wishing to make more than a day of it, York, Carlisle, The Lakes, Berwick & Edinburgh all have good roads and plenty of good quality camp/caravan sites.
The only problem at the moment with camp/caravan sites is the school hols and how busy they are, but once the schools are back it may become easier.
Any thoughts greatly appreciated
Cheers |

Blackpool now that sounds good :D
Never thought of there, Delica parade down the mile then a few bevvys
sounds cool 8)
There's also a few good sites there for those wishing to stay (and have a few more bevvys ) plus loads to do for the kids while the adults have a few more bevvys
I'd definetly be up for that :D |

Wey Hey!
It's starting to gather pace :D
I have never personally stayed on any of the sites in /around Blackpool (always in B&B) but a few of my pals have and say theres some really good sites, so i'll get some info out of them.
I do have a load of camp/caravan site guides, so i'll get my head into them and see what comes up.
What sort of site do we fancy, just a field with toilets & electric or the whole wack swimming pool, boozer, (kids) entertainment etc etc.
I'm easy anything for me. (Delica convoy along the mile then afterwards barbie & cold cans ah bliss :D )
Does anybody know of any good sites for caravans & tents, with space that would be pleased to host a meet, or is there anybody out there who knows or lives in Blackpool and can do a bit of a recce
I'm not sure what sort of date we're looking at but once the schools go back it should be a lot easier to get booked.
Who out there has experience of organising this type of thing and fancies taking up the challenge i'm willing to help but i've never even been to a meet so wouldn't have a clue where to start or what is actualy expected

Sep/Oct sounds good for us aswell :D
I've just tried that site Rachie mentioned (Windy Harbour at Little Singleton 01253-892562) but got no answer as of yet.
The site sounds ideal from what i've read, but i Can't find a web site as of yet.
I finish work earliy tom so i'll try again then and see what they think of hosting a meet & which dates sep/oct would be the best for them.
I'll just say it's early days & we're not sure at the moment how many will be attending, what sort of numbers can they provide for & how much per unit That should cover it for now.

Hi All,
Tried again to contact Windy Harbour but had no joy so far in contacting them
Rachie have you had any response from your e-mail
Checked out the website, the site looks cool and just right for a meet :D
I was late home today by four hours (my fault for being a train driver, a bit of rain and we're snookerd :? ) so i didn't get the chance to phone until gone five. I'll try again tom as i should be home early (fingers crossed)
I'll keep you all posted and vice versa please
Cheers for now |

I'm still searching
I'll get on the blower over the weekend and try to find a suitable alternative for dates in sep/oct We may have to find a place a bit further away, but thats not to much of a problem as long as the site is a good one.
Apparently they get very busy during the lights! and most sites in Blackpool are booked way in advance or so they keep telling me (i would never of worked that one out by myself)
Has any body got a date in mind or another site/area they fancy.
As earlier mentioned anytime, anywhere for me (work permitting)
Rachie do you know of any other nearby areas with a decent site
The hunt goes on

Hello JapSTi3,
You sound like the man we have been looking for to get this thing off the ground. (me being a daft Geordie an all that)
I notice from your other post you know the score when organising a meet :D
I've asked about and keep getting the knock back from the sites in Blackpool but i'm not sure of the area and haven't a clue where the nearest and best alternative site might be :?
We need somewhere that is good for kids and caters for tents aswell as caravans & dogs (no not our lass! he says hiding the script from her)
So far dates permitting we have four interested but i'm sure once everything is organised we would have more members up for it
I'm now snookerd for the last two weeks in Oct but most other dates should be sound for me. Anybody got a preference
Anyway Buddy I'll keep hunting and see what comes up, but as earlier mentioned I haven't a clue and you sound like "U is dee man in the know" so if you fancy the leadership it's yours for the taking Cheers |
