Just thought we'd ask if anyone would be up for a Somerset/Devon meet since others are arranging meets around us. 8) We'd suggest perhaps in the Taunton area as thats quite central (and no, we don't live there! ), but obviously this is negotiable depending on who wants to attend! Perhaps an evening meet at a pub initially might be good for us "yokels" to get to know each other! _________________ Mick and Kathryn - Black over silver L400 |

Hi Aweeka
We could be up for this as it's not to far to go for an evening meet.

Hi Pete - thanks for replying - I was starting to think it was something I said! We're happy either to do an evening meet or a daytime one at the weekend - we were just testing the water so to speak. We thought an evening one might be easier as most of the suitable places we know for a daytime meet are in the Minehead area and thats a bit of a hike for most people! If you are happy with Taunton then we were going to suggest either the Blackbrook Inn (nice pub on A358 literally just off M5 - about 100 yards!) or on the Minehead side of Taunton the Cross Keys, which again is quite pleasant and I don't think will have as much traffic noise. Both have decent sized car parks and beer gardens in case the weather's good! What do you think and when would suit? If anyone else is interested let us know too! :D _________________ Mick and Kathryn - Black over silver L400 |

Hi Mick & Kathryn
I don't know Taunton that well, so which ever you think best. What time were you thinking of? Oh and we can't make Thursdays ( DARTS NIGHT ) I think the Blackbrook is the pub we pass just before the roundabout to the M5 am i right??. Well i hope a few other people decide to come it will make a nice evening out, and a chance to meet some new people.

Hi Pete - would a Friday evening be okay? (babysitting easier to arrange with it not being a school night!) Is Friday 14th July too short notice? If not, about 7.30 or 8pm? You are right about the Blackbrook so we might as well make it there as it is very easy to find even if you don't know Taunton. We won't have access to a computer until Sunday from tomorrow afternoon so don't worry if there's a delay replying.
How are the family? I hope Kelly felt better soon after the meet at Bristol! _________________ Mick and Kathryn - Black over silver L400 |

Hi Pete - Friday sounds good (and I know it was me who suggested it ) but so as not to exclude Bill and possibly any others who can't make the short date should we postpone or meet anyway with the intention of more meets in the future, which would be good anyway! Let us know what you think. _________________ Mick and Kathryn - Black over silver L400 |

Hi Mick & Kathryn
Let's go for the Friday meet anyway and make a start, then we can arrange another date for future meets, say once a month or would that be to soon between meets.

okay Pete that'll be good. See you on Friday - 8pm okay? If there is anyone else out there who'd like to join us you're very welcome. I can give directions if necessary. The pub is just off the motorway junction and if you aren't sure about distance I reckon it will take less than an hour to get there from either Bristol or Exeter areas. _________________ Mick and Kathryn - Black over silver L400 |

Hi Bobbybiscuit - welcome to the club! You're more than welcome to join us - we're having a minimeet and a drink at the Blackbrook Inn, Taunton, tomorrow (Friday) at 8pm if you are able to come. Its just off junction 25 of the M5 and if you're travelling north (from Exeter direction) then once you get onto the J25 slip road keep right and take the 4th exit onto the A358 east (you will go round and underneath the motorway). The pub is just a few yards along the A358 on the left. _________________ Mick and Kathryn - Black over silver L400 |

Hi Aweeka
I have a suggestion for a weekend meet, what about the Haynes Motor Museum at sparkford http://www.haynesmotormuseum.com/ I know they are very accomodating to car clubs. I think it's within about 50 miles of Bournemouth, Salisbury, Bristol, W-S-M, Weymouth( :D ) so it could well appeal to a few club members. Just a thought _________________
