hi can anyone help me

changer,th last owner had a single kenwood
kdc 30-24(cr##) which seems to have been fitted
not using any of the mulit-block connectors
now I want to re fit the original unit so the rear
controls work as well Q1. the two multi-plugs
from the loom don't match up to the back of the unit
am I missing a short lead, or as I have the upgrade
with tweeters etc got the wrong head unit Q2. will
this all work without the amp which is missing
model no. of head unit MR193962
Q3. at the back of the unit where the ariel plugs
in there is another small hole whats this for, have
found corosponding cable

Q3, If the socket in question looks like: then it is probably for the CD autochanger.
Q2, Depends on what the previous owner did to fit the Kenwood! Are there any signs of joints other than original Mitsubishi wiring etc? I would have thought the original wiring plugged straight into the rear of the original unit.
Q1, Maybe you have the wrong head unit. I very much doubt the stereo will work without an amp. It sounds like he may have by-passed the amp or rewired the system entirely. I think you should get it checked out by a auto-sparks preferably. Sorry can't help more as it is a different system to mine if you have the slave unit in the rear. Old Skool Beat may be able to shed some more light on it....

thanks for the reply rusty q3
the original cd cable is still in place
have positioned cd under seat an d
plugged in ......in your photo the extra
hole can be seen on the right
have just had a dig about under the
drivers seat and found the plugs to the amp
no amp though...there seems to be in the
dash another set of wires that come
from the loom which were used to power
the new stereo,,,,, the black plugs seem to take
small round pins, and the ones in the
back of the unit are in a white plastic surround
with flat bar type 14 in all..some speaker wires have been cut
but they can be repaired

I think the small hole your talking about is for the extra ariel (still can't remember what it's called Embarassed )), the ariel is in the glass on the most rear left hand window Wink

Just had a look for my old amp in my shed but.....sorry to say I chucked it out on the last clear-up Rolling Eyes
Not sure if other Delis without the amp have the same head unit as the ones with, my original unit was model number 301 (written on the cassette flap) I'm sure others will help on this matter Wink
If its the same unit then theres the answer to whether it work without an amp 8)

The slave unit in the Deli' does no more than a remote control does on any half decent headunit nowdays Wink (apart from its got phono inputs)

Its the radio bands that most people get fed up with on import radios :|

thanks beat shame about that old amp
went through old faqs and seen you
offering it ,,,my head unit got P402
on cassette flap now we know there are more than one
model just of to see my mates super exceed with no
upgrade, I know that buying a dvd screen would
solve some problems, but pennies being a bit
scarce, as i've already got an 7" portable dvd
an a 10" 12v tv video, just thought it would
be easy as everyone seems to plug them in
to get them to work, so I need an amp and the
corret head unit for a royal exceed 'typical'

Hi Saint
When you say updated system do you mean the system with the slave unit, amp, 10 speakers etc. Question
Mine was fitted with the upgrade although its not a Royal Wink
The number on the cassette flap was 302 Wink
