We have a 1990 Delcia with the bench type rear seats with lap belts.

We really need to replace these with 3 point belts (for the kids) but i cannot see how it would be possible. If anyone has done this i would love to hear how it was achieved.

Finally, can anyone recommend a good garage/mechanic in the Worcester area?

The seat belts is an interesting one. If you don't use the standard ones, I guess any you fit would be subject to mot test etc. The mounting points would have to be er very solid to say the least. I would say this is not possible for the centre of the seat but look at the (C)rear posts and check they haven't already got provision for mounts on them. If they have, I would have thought you could get belts from another car to fit. I seem to remember my old mk 3 escort estate had very long belts from the back pillars of the car for the rear passengers.

When you say 'oil rings'. Do you mean piston rings or fuel pump seals or what? I can't help you with either really, but someone else might know Wink Good luck with the work Wink

I hadn't thought about the MOT test. Maybe its best to leave the belts alone!

On your 1990 L300 have you not got 3 point lap belts on the rear most bench seat anyway?
Mine has
AND the the central bench seat gets a 3 point belt on the drivers side and a lap belt for the central section and NO BELT for the pop down 'jump' seat
Is yours the same as this?
If not Mad Dave may have the 3 point belts still available from the rear most seat of his breaker......

my 91 L300 has lap straps throughout the rear, it deos have captive nuts in the'c' pillars to fit 2, 3 point belts for the fold down seat and the o/s centre seat, but will need to cut the interior trim to accomadate.
