well...

after much reading and chating to owners (cheers Bruce & Redneck)
I went looking at tyres today

235/75/15 fit fine as do 30x9.5x15 maybe same damned size....

one thing I did notice....

if you stand a 31x10.5x15 next to a 30x9.5x15 the difference in height is very little but the width is huge, I suspect this extra width is one of the reasons why a few little mods are needed, also the 31" tyre must stick out and so to be legal you would need wheel archs fitted, but the 30" tyres look like they will fit fine.

I'm fitting my suspension first but looks like I'll be going the 30" route with either MT or AT tyres... not decided which yet, but seeing as most miles will be road AT's seem a good idea.

it does depend on which tyre/wheel combo you have on. i have paj wheels and 31x10.5x15 tyres that do not stick out past the origional arches(but did need some metal manipulation to prevent catching)

Hi

I've got 30x9.50x15 BFG AT'S on mine and before I fitted the wide arches my wheels used to stick out further than the body.

Cheers

i don't have pictures of the metal work, these 2 piccies may give you an idea, the first pic has the plastic trim cut where the blue mudflap is and the second is origonal, there is now, no cut out on the trim for a standard mudflap Wink

(sorry the first pic isn't too clear i haven't got a side on view of it after)
