thanks all for the sound Embarassed advice the photo's/slide show were invaluable got it out in about 30 mins no damage done didn't even disturb the homer simpson smell nice thing that's stuck in the air vent ,there are 2x support brkt's fixed by 4x screws each on the side of the radio/cassett player that hold it in place in the dash i don't know if these will be needed to re-fit new player, but the screws have either been put in by a robot with muscles in it's spit/oil or locktited anyway i can,t budge them and messed up the heads in trying (these phillips screws are a curse) next step drill them out hope it's worth the effort Evil or Very Mad i'm not sure what's in the kit you buy to fill the hole & fit new radio/cd player? any input sorry for the endless questions
regards

Some of the screws at the top of my dash just rip apart when trying to undo them, ended up using five holes (pipe grip or whatever you call them in your part of the country Laughing ) didn't put up much of a fight with those Wink

The radio brackets I reused to hold the new pocket and radio together.
I have since changed the radio again and brought a double din unit, the brackets lined up with the new unit a treat :D
If you don't use them, at least keep them somewhere safe Wink
