I have Green fluid leaking from Behind the lowest belt pulley above what I assume is the sump.So is there a gasket or some sort of seal that needs replacing? What does the bottom pulley drive/get driven from?
Thanks for any Help

Sounds like water?
Check the rad water to see what colour it is - my guess is it's green (anti-freeze) and this is probably what is leaking....
Being an L300 owner, I don't know what each of the pulleys does on an L400, but assume the water is leaking from the water pump area. This could be either a knackered seal, or a shot water pump?
Another thing to look at that happened on an old Fiat of mine was the rad itself was leaking. This sprayed a fine jet of water back onto the engine. On first and second inspection, it looked like the engine itself had a leak - took me a few goes to trace it back to the rad (no drips at all on the rad - it was all sprayed onto the engine!)
Best of luck sorting the problem.....

Is it a thick, oily fluid? If so it could be air con oil which is usually green, don't know why it would be near the bottom pulley unless it's leaking from the compressor and running along the aircon drive belt :? |
