Delica CLUB PHILIPPINES
04 FEBRUARY 2006
First Official Land Trip Tour
ASSEMBLY (6:00AM - 7:15AM)
We first assembled at PETRON fuel station along South Super Highway in between Susana Heights and Carmona exits where we started with 6 Delica vans in the convoy line. A second assembly at CALTEX also along South Super Highway in between Mamplasan and Sta Rosa exits. There are now 7 Delica vans in the convoy line.
NATIONAL ARTS CENTER (7:16AM - 9:00AM)
This is our first destination stop, somewhere in the middle of Mount Makiling in Los Banos Laguna, overlooking Laguna de Bay (Laguna Lake).
NATIONAL ARTS CENTER CHAPEL (9:00AM - 9:30AM)
This is a chapel found on the way to the National Arts Center on Mount Makiling in Los Baños Laguna.
TRAVELED TO KAMAYAN SA PALAISDAAN(9:30AM - 11:30AM)
We drove from National Arts Center all the way to the restaurant in Tayabas, Quezon. It's about 90 kms drive from Los Baños. We were supposed to stop first at the Holy Hill but it was filled with so many people and vehicles that we decided to go here first then we'd just go back after lunch.
LUNCH AT KAMAYAN SA PALAISDAAN(11:30AM - 1:30PM)
We had a sumptuous meal of Sinigang na Sugpo, Inihaw na Porkchop, Chopsuey, Crispy Pata, Sizzling Chicken, Leche Flan and Softdrinks. Looks like everybody enjoyed eating their well-deserved meal.
THE HOLY HILL(1:30PM - 2:30PM)
This was made in 2004 here in Lucban, Quezon. The sight is really amazing and the climate is very nice. Many out of town people come this way to witness this great hill where it is believed that healing wonders happen here. One can just marvel at the great structures. One of our "youngest" members, Lito (62), climbed the steps with no sweat and it just took him about 3 minutes to get to the top. Unbelievable! He will be turning 63 tomorrow! Happy Birthday to you Lito (lee2vee)!!!!
TRAVELED TO CALIRAYA LAKE(2:30PM - 3:30PM)
Caliraya Lake is a man-made lake and it was biult during the time of former President Ferdinand Marcos. The lake was constructed as part of the Hydro-Electric Power Plant (Kalayaan Power Plant) that will generate megawatts of electricity to power part of Metro Manila. Caliraya lake is actually located on top of the mountains overlooking Laguna de Bay. The water that falls down from Caliraya lake flows to Laguna Lake.
