Hi everyone,

Just stumbled across this site as I have been searching for advice on what to do with my Delica. I only bought it 2 weeks ago, and before I could even get it in for a full service and belts changed...the timing belt went. I feel horrendously unlucky but I am struggling to actually get anyone to look at the vehicle. The garage I got towed to didn't want to look at it as they had never worked on one before. I have had one place say they can look it but not until October.

Does anyone know of a place that is familiar with the vehicles? I am based northwest near Halifax. Hoping for somewhere relatively near due to transport costs but if I have to travel then I can.

I'm currently unaware of how bad the damage even is. I am assuming it's not good news however I am just stuck not knowing what to do with it.

Any help would be massively appreciated.

Thanks

David

Sounds like the 2.4 4G64 engine.

There is a place down in Sowerby Bridge, by Walker Lane, I know of who may be able to help. A guy called Alwyn Chapman.
He is just a single guy, with other small units around him, who help each other out.

He has a shogun, so is familiar with Mitsu. Unfortunately he doesn't have a vehicle carrier.
I'll try to contact him for you.

There is also a vehicle breaker in Halifax who often advertises parts for sale. Plus If my memory serves me right we have a club member in Hebden Bridge, who is a sheep farmer and does his own mechanicing.

Most garages will not know the Delica. But they will know the engine if you tell them it is the same one as used in the Pajero / Shoguns.

Oh that's great to hear, Sowerby is super close to me so getting it there would be easy enough. I really appreciate the help.

I see another Delica all the time round Hebden, it's probably the same guy. Part of my motivation for buying one was seeing that parked around town.

Good to know about the same engine as well, should give me a bit more confidence on phone to places
