Hello fourm,

We are attempting to build the ultimate 'dumb' 4D56T by using a 4D56U block.

Has anyone else attempted this?

Hi  there, What does the term "dumb" mean on this? Are you going to fit an 8-valve head with the standard (non-variable geometry) turbo and old-style mechanical injector pump? With all the later L300 versions available in Australia, and the clone Hyundai models etc, you might get useful info from an Australian forum, eg Mitsubishi L300 Offroad, as no one on here has yet come back to you. It would certainly be good to get the extra power that the 16v common rail engine produced, but you would need all the electronics that go with it, and would you need to find the space for an intercooler? Good luck, and let us know how you get on.
