Hi, I'm new to this forum. I presently own a nice Audi Allroad. It's a great car, fast, comfortable, Quattro transmission, adjustable ride height etc etc. I use it to pull my small caravan and it has always managed on slippery, muddy fields.

The Greater Manchester congestion zone is on its way at some point in the next year or two and I don't want to be stuck with a non-compliant diesel that might be difficult to sell at a good price.

My plan is to sell both the caravan and Allroad and buy a 4x4 van. Bongos are old and non compliant. Similar L300 and L400 Delicas. I have seen some threads that LPG L400 Delicas are compliant but the TFL site says LPG vehicles are not. It says, amongst other things, that although the vehicles can run on the LPG they can also run on petrol.

A D5 looks a good option for me, I don't want to do 'off-roading', just not get stuck in fields.

There are not many D5s for sale in the UK. There are loads in Japan. One importer I contacted said it costs about an extra £5,500 for them to get one imported and all the paperwork completed. That seems a lot extra.

Has anyone any experience of importing from Japan?

Thanks!
