Why fit freewheeling hubs when the L400 has auto hubs and the 2H position leaves the front in freewheeling mode ?
4H still leaves the front freewheeling until the rear wheels lose traction and automatically engages 4WD. _________________

Just because it separates the wheels from the drive shafts, thought it might help if being towed, seem to remember uncle bazwold getting home only because of his freewheeling hubs, not sure of the fuel saving it's meant to give .. _________________ Always remember when you read my replies I know less than Bazza. |

I believe freewheeling hubs are only on the front if fitted.
When towed the front wheels are usually off the ground and as the rear wheels are turning so the rear prop shaft has to be disconnected to prevent damage to the gearbox. _________________ Ian.

When my gearbox failed, on the Yorkshire Warrior, V8 ric towed it fully on the ground, in neutral, with the propshaft disconnected from the rear diff.

As far as I'm aware the front drivers wheel turns the diff
FWHs don't save on fuel but can get you home as in broken CV joints, I've fitted them to all of mine and now my L200

Front wheels with free wheeling hubs do not turn the front diff when in 2 High. _________________ Ian.
