I have normal size tyres on my van, but the speedo is over reading by about 10 %.
Is the speedo on the 2006 L400 electronic or mechanical?
In either case, how would i recalibrat back to the correct reading?
Thanks |

Electronic.
They may have been redone to allow for a larger diameter wheel _________________

No.
VDO is an instrument maker. The odometer in a Deli is not a VDO one.
Note reference in your link to pressing button on odometer in, whilst turning engine on. There is no button on the Deli Odometer.
As to recalibration: When I replaced my OEM dash with a white 'Lockwood one I had to pull off the needle from the odometer.
To get the speed indication right I drove on a very straight road, several times, at differing speeds, with the needle lightly fitted over the guage pin, matching it against my TomTom. Then past a roadside speed indicator, again at differing speeds, until I was satisfied it was registering correctly, then pushed the needle firmly onto the pin; and did a recheck.
All I then had to do was replace the cover on the dash and refit it.
An easier method would be to book it into a garage with a calibrated rolling road. But I'm a Yorkshireman and prefer my money in my pocket. _________________

The Odo has a button. You use it to zero the trip counter. |

It seems my understanding of the word 'Button' is different to yours.
Why don't you follow the instructions in your linked item, to see if it works. _________________

Most cars seem to have optimistic speedos as standard. My L300 on standard wheels was 10% optimistic according to sat nav. It is now almost spot on (perhaps 25 or 3% optimistic with 265/70/15s fitted and inflated to 35psi.) _________________ Andy C L300 Super Exceed - over 100 smiles per gallon! |
