Tom tells me they are having a Caravan/ Camper show in July as well as the September show. |
They mention it on the Adventure And Overland Show website, as an 'International Campervan Show', but when you click on the hyperlinks they take you back to the same page it is mentioned on. it's purported to be mainly aimed at 2WD vehicles.
Having tickets for one gives full entry to both shows.
NB: Any idea if we have enough club members going to qualify for our own free pitch area, I.e. six Deli's ? _________________

I understood it was a separate show.
Usually we have a pitch towards the bottom of the field.
If you have the full camping ticket you just go down the fiield and there is normally at least one van there.
I should be there around lunchtime Friday and know where to go as the stewards usually don’t have a clue.
Andyman thinks he may be there on the Thursday and he also knows the pitch location.
I didn’t book a pitch after the fiasco at JDM at East of England cost me money!

I think Nigel Sutterby usually organises the pitch. If we have one, it will be marked on a map in the reception tent by the gate. Many of the ticket-checkers don't know a Delica from a banana, but the older marshalls in the truck (especially the one that looks like ZZ Top) do, and will be able to lead/direct you to the right spot. Last year was a joint OA + campervan show, and our pitch was in behind the giant Winnebagos. I picked up a couple in a Deli who had given up and parked on the perimeter track, and led them to the group. _________________ Andy C L300 Super Exceed - over 100 smiles per gallon! |

If there isn’t a fixed pitch we will just have to make one.
There is usually plenty of room where we usually go. _________________ Ian.

A minimum of six vehicles from the club is required to have a free pitch in the Club section. _________________

There is plenty of room down the field and once you are booked in they don’t bother you unless you are in someone else’s space. _________________ Ian.

There wasn't a lot of spare room last year, (a) because it was the first show after lockdown, although, in theory, some restrictions were still in force, and (b) because it was the first combined Overland + Campervan show; - hence why we were right down the far end behind the Winnebagos. Me and two other late Deli arrivals ended up on the fringes of the Delica area camped behind some Hungarian friends of Nigel's in a MAN 10-tonner! My sole L300 was vastly outnumbered by L400s! _________________ Andy C L300 Super Exceed - over 100 smiles per gallon! |

Hi Ian
There about 14 of us here, so far.
Andy arrived at 9.30pm, so his car is in the overnight field nd heks brought his tent down to the camping area.
The place is absolutely packed, with over a ghousand camper trucks, etc, but we have saved a space for you.
We are at the far end from the entrance. _________________
