Got Mitzi back yesterday with all the work done and a few improvements like the transfer shift lever now moves smoothly between the settings instead of having to be pushed hard.
She pulls better and NO SMOKE!
Just have to put all my usual bits and pieces back in so I can go away without any hassle.
A lot of money spent so it looks like I will be keeping her for a few more years! _________________ Ian.

Well at least Mitzi doesn’t need any welding as yet!!
Have had more than one MOT guy surprised at the good condition of a 28 year old vehicle. _________________ Ian.

Hooray! Glad you're keeping her! Although the bloke on one of the FB forums desperate to buy one in good nick with a good history that I had told "I know such a vehicle which may soon be for sale" won't be so pleased! I've offered him a test drive in mine; he's coming this way early in the new year. For my sins, it has convinced two others who subsequently bought a L300! I also warned him that good ones are worth it, but they no longer come cheap. _________________ Andy C L300 Super Exceed - over 100 smiles per gallon! |

Sorry about that but having invested substantial money in her I want to keep her for a while yet. _________________ Ian.

I thought you might! A wise decision, IMHO. _________________ Andy C L300 Super Exceed - over 100 smiles per gallon! |

Further to my last have run a tank of fuel through Mitzi and filled her up.
She is worth a lot more now with a full tank £88 worth.
Anyway achieved 23.82mpg on that first tankful around town.
So she should be good on a run as I don’t have to put my foot down as far as I used to. _________________ Ian.

£88 for 65L? That's £1.35/L! Has the internet suddenly got extremely slow, or have I been self isolating too long? Last diesel I bought was £1.57/L _________________ Andy C L300 Super Exceed - over 100 smiles per gallon! |

PS I hope you have it locked away safely! I'm not in a particular rush to get mine back on the road just yet, and enjoying both convertible and m/bike - both returning around 50mpg (if driven gently! ) _________________ Andy C L300 Super Exceed - over 100 smiles per gallon! |

My tanks hold 75 litres. Actually put 11.04 gallons / 50 litres to fill the tanks. 1.74/litre.
Remember from that trip we had and I thought I was really low on fuel as the gauge read under a quarter?
Well same again, gauge reading just over a quarter so got 11.04 gallons in. _________________ Ian.

It's the rate that the needle drops through that last quarter that used to worry me. Then I worry that the reserve light is not working. It has only come on twice, and drove 30 miles before I was able to fill up at non-motorway prices. I invested in 5L of Aldi's finest cooking oil in early March. Still got it, so one of the best investments I ever made! _________________ Andy C L300 Super Exceed - over 100 smiles per gallon! |

My reserve light came on that time back then and I put nearly 12 gallons in so still had over four gallons left and needle was right down. _________________ Ian.
