Hi, I have this distant memory of someone saying that the vacuum pipework mounted on the intercooler is for the EGR set up; if this is the case, as I have removed the EGR, can I remove the pipework?

Andy

One solenoid it is for the EGR. The other is for operating the fuel pump idle up. Note the vacuum pipe going into the solenoid on top of the pump.

There should be a diagram fitted to the underside of your bonnet showing how the circuit is connected; if not use this one to remove the EGR solenoid from the circuit:-

Thanks for that Lewis, typically the broken wire I have on one of the plugs is the plug for the fuel pump!
