I bought mine from the Go Camping store group.
At that time it cost £27. _________________

Just for info, I did now purchase a Chinese Diesel heater, sold as a self contained unit, rather than the kit to install on the vehicle. It seems pretty good so far.
I've yet to use it beyond testing.
Anyone interested can see a collection of very informative videos on these heaters on youtube:

Andyman your info has answered my questions regarding which one to buy 2kw or 5kw, the 2kw sounds good from what you say. Also your info on mounting outside is good to know also, I was thinking of mounting one in the engine bay where my EGR unit was with a metal heat shield protecting it, and the heat pipe going through the existing air ducts somehow or through the firewall near the steering column.
There are so many to chose from and looks like will be about the 120quid mark. Any you would recommend?
I was hovering over buying the one with the fuel bottle and heater inside a self contained unit and was thinking of housing it inside. But now I will go ahead and do what you have done as the noise from it would has been annoying inside.
Scotland is gonna be warm now whatever month I go this year |

You should be good with that one - Maxspeedingrods have been doing them for a while, and buying through Amazon gives you peace of mind if it doesn't work! Any issues, give me a shout. Best connect it all up off the van and bench test before installing it. _________________ Andy C L300 Super Exceed - over 100 smiles per gallon! |

£120
On ebay they are only £70 for the same thing:- https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/294687243243
Plus there are loads up for Bidding on, for the next five days, starting at £1, but I reckon those bids will shoot up quick. _________________

These heaters are cloned by many Chinese manufacturers and sold by loads of internet suppliers. I appear to have been lucky with mine, both worked out of the box, and still do, but there are plenty of horror stories on the CDH forums. So, cheapest is not always best; a proven supplier who presumably has a long-term relationship with his manufacturer. may be worth the extra cash in the long run. Still less than a quarter of the price of a genuine Eberspacher. _________________ Andy C L300 Super Exceed - over 100 smiles per gallon! |
