My first Delica was a S1 L400, which had an additional binacle on the dash, with battery, vehicle attitude and vacuum pressure (it was a diesel 2.8L tdi)

My current Delica is a petrol version, so my question is whether the vacuum indication has any meaning in a petrol engined vehicle and if so how I would go about hooking it up?

I have a feeling it is only relevant for diesel engines though.

Thanks

(1) Are you sure it was Vacuum, not a Turbo Boost pressure gauge  Question

(2) Yes, a Vacuum gauge can be useful with a petrol engine - As an aid to fuel economy.

As for "Hooking up"  If no there is no provision on the inlet manifold to screw in an adaptor,
then a hole needs to be drilled, a thread tapped to accept a vacuum pipe/hose adaptor.
The vacuum hose has to be threaded through the bulkhead, and into the Vacuum gauge.

I should really stop relying on my memory and look at these things before asking questions.

1. You're right, it is boost, so presumably I'd need to replace this with a vacuum gauge

2. The middle gauge is inside/outside temperature, so I presumably need to source the requisite sensors and wiring loom (or is one available in the wiring already?)

3. The third is battery voltage, so I guess just needs a live/earth connection
