Getting more smoke from the exhaust on acceleration.
Also at low revs when I put my foot down there is a rattle from the engine compartment which disappears as the revs rise.
Would this be a stuck waste gate or EGR?
Not the greatest when it comes to mechanicals!. _________________ Ian.

By 'putting your foot down', do you mean under load - in gear on the road? Do you get it when revving it stationary? Stuck open EGR might produce more smoke, but not the rattle. If it rattles on the stationary test, or even under way, you might get closer to an answer with the seat/engine cover lifted - if you can stand the noise! It could just be sympathetic resonance of a loose part. If it goes away once warmed up, it may be injector rattle/ worn injector(s). _________________ Andy C L300 Super Exceed - over 100 smiles per gallon! |

Oil level is fine.
Rattle is just when pulling away at low revs and/or speed.
It disappears when the revs increase.
Haven’t had the lid up yet to see if I can narrow it down. _________________ Ian.
