Hi all, I have to replace one the front ECS shock absorbers on my L400 for it's MOT - I've just contacted my local Mitsubishi dealer and they've quoted me £291 for one shock absorber! The part number I gave is: MB891675 is this the right one?

I'm sure I saw somewhere on the forum that they were much cheaper than that.

Hopefully this is an error otherwise I'm going to have to swap them for non ECS ones which I don't want to do...

Thanks!

Hi, I bought a full set from the Mitsi dealership in Brighton last year, gave them the chassis number rather than a part number and they were roughly £100 each.

Thanks Andy, it's actually the Brighton dealership I've been in contact with. Will get them to try again with the chassis number, cheers for the tip.

No!

MR353425   -         Shock Absorber Front L400 - £100 (approx)

As noted on the Useful parts numbers list:- http://www.MDOCUK.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=393

The last time I bought one it was only £85.51. but having just checked the MR353425 part on Amayama it is also up at £203, which doesn't seem right.

It may be worth giving MitzyBitz a call:- https://www.mitzybitz.com/index.php?route=product/search&search=MR353425

NB: The MR 353425 is the replacement number for the original shock absorbers first used back in 94, when they swapped manufacturer.
Replacements for those are also available from aftermarket sellers for considerably less outlay, though if they will work with the ECS system I couldn't say:-

Brilliant, thanks Lewis. I've tried Mitsubishi Brighton with the new part number (MR353425) and they've quoted £112 inc vat which is much better!
