Hi all, just been for MOT and passed with an advisory of small exhaust leak. The section concerned is from the flexi forward Which branches up to manifold and across to other manifold. I’ve rung around loads of places and nobody stocks or can seemingly get one. Mitzi Bitz suggested getting it welded up but the flexi bit has seen better days so ideally would like to replace. Anyone know of a stockist?

Had a similar exhaust issue and troubles getting a replacement. Milners supply a version, but discussion with other members meant I got a custom stainless steel made up by Powerflow.
Lifetime guarantee and likely to outlive the rest of the Delica. Didn't cost much more then sourcing the Milners version and paying to have it fitted.

I went for a side exit and had no issues with my MOT at the start of the year.

It’s got a powerflo stainless from back up to the flexi part, but the guys who made it didn’t want to touch it from that point. Checked Milners and they don’t do an exhaust for the PD6W apparently?

Have you tried Mitsi it amazing what they do have available sitting in a warehouse. Other than the welding option maybe just leave your number with the usual breakers filspajeros, etc, just in case but probably not they get a petrol in.

Just called in at Mitsi in Chesterfield. The part doesn’t show a price which he said usually means they’ve discontinued it. He’s emailing Mitsi in Japan and hopes to get back to me next week.  I’ve also emailed Powerflow but not had a response as yet. Can’t be this difficult to get a bit for a 15 yr old car😬

Have you tried posting a spares request on Carspares24/7? It goes out to breakers all over the country, any who have got the part get back to you with a price. There must be some V6s going to the scrapyards by now. I take it that it's not the same part on Pajeros/Shoguns?

I’ll try that now Andy. No idea if it’s same as the Paj exhaust🤔

No joy from breakers yards but had a call back from Mitsubishi this morning who have had a response from Mitsi in Japan - the part is available on special order for a whopping £550 plus VAT so around £650 all in (plus fitting cost). I’m gonna explore other options before I bite the bullet on that one

If you don't mind travelling then give Tony Banks, in Leeds, a call. He did a full side exhaust right up to the manifold, including a new flexi joint.

Plus he's a Cat Specialist

There are people out there who can make anything, and do so for the classic car market as a living. However, classic car owners tend to have deep pockets. A V6 manifold is inevitably a more complex thing than a straight four one,  usually one piece for each bank of three, with a Y connector. I am not familiar with the V6 or its layout, but if you can find good pics you can send out for quotes, they can use your existing one for a pattern when you have chosen someone to make it.

Cheers Lewis, I was actually looking at Tony banks website last night so if my mechanic can’t sort something soon I’ll head up to leeds.

If those single post lifts were dodgy then garages would not buy them, they couldn't afford to keep paying out for damage, as an insurer would not cover them.

Therefore the Lift is quite safe, provided you only lift within their tolerance, which is about 2.5 Tonne.

So the flexi part started blowing on Saturday whilst I was near the local Powerflow garage so I popped in to ask again if they could make the part. Got it on the ramps and had a look and said no probs. The previous guy obviously didn’t fancy doing it😑. Got it booked in for next Wednesday!

I have found this whole post to be really exhausting.

It dies down then someone will pipe up again.

We need to silence it, there are far to many emissions, it’s driving me around the bend.

Is it just me fuming, Blowing a gasket, or is it big boring anyone else?

Right, I’ve finished gassing, time for a smoke.
