Just wondering if anyone has made a new worm drive via a 3D printer ? Anyone got any contacts? |

I replaced the small cogs with ones I scanned and printed in cobalt chrome as they had rounded off.
Called in a favour at my old place of work who ran metal powder bed AM machines. Are you after the worm gear the the cog connects with?

Hi Rob.
My electronics engineer friend that you met in St. Mellons has a home made 3D printer.
Give me a call, if you are interested - I'll call him back, to see if he would do it
Do bear in mind that it may require a special type of filament (plastic) = would reflect in the cost

Most manufactures sell a repair kit, but I can’t find one for Mitsubishi - I’m sure there would be one similar to ours and for less than a £fiver it would be worth a look.
Ebay link - Sunroof motor repair kit
