My original LWB was always upgraded over the years, new shocks, springs, aluminium header tank etc this i converted when I had mobility issues and installed a tail tlift. I will be keeping this for ehen my mobility becomes a problem again

However i now have a second LWB. But it needs some serious TLC

It needs chassis welding and the engine has an oil leak

I want to "restore it" in this sense. I have a friend in Europe who says he would be interested in doing it. If so, the question arises as to parts

Q1. if the engine gaskets are to be replaced, would it be a good time to do an engine rebuild ? There is a kit with new pistons and piston rings etc I could take with me

Easier done in UK but at what cost ?

Q2. i know I need to fix a brake caliper and a wheel bearing - is it worth doing all of them, at the same time ?

Basically I want to keep the Delica until either I or it gives up the ghost. I prefer to have it is solid working order, then I know where I stand.

(without being silly on spending money, i want to keep my Delica on the road for as long as possible)

Depends where the leak is if its somewhere simple to fix like half moons etc and the engine runs fine I would not bother doing a rebuild.

What Baz said. Worth paying someone who knows Delicas to determine source of leak, if you can't find it yourself.
Also are the wheel bearing and caliper on the same wheel? (one often causes the other) If so, definitely worth doing the two together - sometimes the caliper is just a matter of freeing the existing parts, cheap if you are doing it yourself, but if you are paying a mechanic, fitting a new caliper may actually work out cheaper especially as the old one has to come off anyway to do the wheel bearing.
