Club meet at Dingestow Wales. Bridge Camping and Caravan site. www.bridgecaravanpark.co.uk

Nice flat site. With, over a river bridge, a short woodland walk.

4 Miles (approx) South West from Monmouth. Just off the A 40.
Close to The Forest of Dean and Brecon Beacons.

Places to see: Dan-yr-Ogof caves. http://www.showcaves.co.uk/  No parking charges, last time I was there  Smile
The Cathedral cave is massive a river inside the cave leads to the Cathedral,
with a waterfall inside, that one can walk under.
Add to that - one, (read 2) can get married in there  Rolling Eyes

The Dan-yr-Ogof cave has amazing stalactite/stalagmite structures that have to be seen to believe.
It twist N turns, has several layers, where you can look down and on, from where you were.

Other places nearby: Tintern Abbey, Symonds Yat https://www.royalforestofdean.info/wye-valley/symonds-yat.shtml

In 2007, I found a road nearby, that gives a panoramic view of the Brecon Beacons.
That road, led to a unique steep wooded country lane, in some places has stone walls both sides.
I've never seen any other roads like this one. That road leads to Llandogo. Next to the River Wye.

Suggested dates: June to August.

I have spoken the campsite owner, very happy to accept "Club meets" Owner will reserve a plot for a club meet.
Starting price from £15 per night. electricity if needed. Cash, cheque. No card payment.

Smile time  Smile - At the caves, I spoke to a young staff person, I asked him "What silly questions do you get asked"
Reply, in a beautiful Welsh accent "I have been asked if the caves are 'underground  Question ' "  Shocked   This absolutely true.

I could make it later in the summer as will probably be away all of June. Grew up other side of Monmouth and went to school there. Nice little town.

Fingers crossed we'll be able to cross the border AND camp in Wales come July 4th! At least here in England we can drive more than five miles!

If and when I’m allowed out. But there are much better roads there for views, and a few non scratchy green lanes to follow

It looks like Wales will be making its next decisions on relaxing lockdown on July 9th, to start on July 13th. Fingers crossed, and watch this space.
In England, we can go camping from July 4th, but groups from mixed households must not be bigger than six, and should maintain social distancing. I can cope with that. Just make sure you bring a bottle of sanitiser/disinfectant spray.

Maintain Unsocial distance - Don't work for folks who are "hard of hearing" (Yours truly)

The sanitiser I use starts with a W  Wink  Certainly not used as a "Spray"   Rolling Eyes

I'll bring two metres (6'7") of tube with two funnels to help with the hearing at distance. Or you can use it to take your - er- sanitizer - at a distance. Laughing

My sanitiser will be the usual 46%, it goes down well and helps you sleep.

Dingestow campsite is open   Laughing  (Do not accept card payment)

Including the facilities.

They are booked for September 11, with another club.

Hands up, those of you want to go. They would like telephone confirmation.

Deker, are you saying they are fully booked up until Sept 11th? Or is that the first or only day that they will have all facilities open?

Or are you saying September 11th is NOT available because of this "other club"? I would certainly prefer dates much earlier.

1) NO.

2) Correct. I said "They are booked FOR September 11"
