I have had a light come on my dash (pictured above) and I am not sure what it is as the manual says this light position should be a spare? I have been looking online but the only similar thing I can seem to find is traction control/abs related but this has a different light for ABS according to the manual. Does anyone know what it is and what would cause it to come on all of a sudden.  It comes on and goes off at startup as normal then only comes on as I start to drive off and stays on for the entire journey.

Thanks. (L400 1995 Diesel 2.8 Auto)

Sam.

Although I don't know what this light means - Does appear to be "Traction" control.

May help if you state the model, Year, Series 1 or 2 of Delica that you have.

i.e. 2 WD , 4 WD, petrol, diesel. Engine size - may not be relevant.

Whether ABS, stability (ECS) control etc.

2.8 ltr Diesel, Automatic 2WD/4WD Super Select, 1995 model (L Reg), has the button for ECS control, don't seem to have an ABS light, according to manual this light shown above replaces where the ABS light would be if without as the one next to it on the left is the handbrake light.

Most likely an ABS sensor fault or damged/cracked reluctor ring or you have a slightly slack wheel bearing. The symptoms you describe are typical of a sensor which finds no fault when the going through the stationary start-up checks, but as soon as you move off, it notices a fault , as above. Severe dirt or rust on the reluctor ring can also cause this. The sensor tip must be under 1mm from the ring at all times. A loose bearing can make the wheel wobble beyond that limit.

That is just another symbol for the ABS / traction Control.  Wink

It could be that the original purchaser specified an optional upgrade for electronic Traction control.
