I do wonder at how many (few) are on the road when I pass by one and think how unlikely it is to see another when there are supposedly only a couple of hundred registered.

I have a LWB L400 series 1 Super Exceed. The V5C refers to it as Delica Space Gear TD"
according to www.howmanyleft.co.uk
2018
Delica Space Gear Auto = 81 (87 in 2017) note 2011 = 128
Delica Space Gear TD = 135 (137 in 2017) note 2011 = 295
Delica Space Gear TD Auto = 20 (20 in 2017) note 2011 = 42
total = 235 in 2018 (244 in 2017) twice as many in 2011 = 465 _________________ 2.8 1994 L400 LWB blue/grey Super Exceed

Mitsubishi L300 diesel LWB = 30 (2017 = 35) note 2006 = 578
Mitsubishi L300 Diesel SWB = 63 (2017 = 71) note 2007 = 882
Mitsubishi ~L300 LWB = 14 (2017 = 16) note 2007 = 121
Mitsubishi L300 SWB = 93 (2017 = 96) note 2007 = 720

Yes, it was the 235 figure I heard; useful to see that it's all variants of descriptor combined.
Does that say 135 of them are manual, just because its not stating auto? Not sure that bears out,but more likely that most are autos in that category too. |

no
mine is in that category and is an auto
i don't know, but i would imagine manual L400 versions are more of the order of a handful _________________ 2.8 1994 L400 LWB blue/grey Super Exceed

If you add together all the L300 listed there that are NOT LWB, it gives a current total of 210 vehicles. All L300 Delicas (4WD) are SWB. _________________ Andy C L300 Super Exceed - over 100 smiles per gallon! |

If they only show those three types for the L400; then you have to assume those numbers aslo include 2WD and 4WD variants including Petrol and Diesel, plus the different engine sizes 2.4, 2.5, 2.8 and 3.0L
So when you take the last 18 years, for them, total them up by year, regardless of being Auto or Manual; you end up with this lot.
2001 = 47
2002 = 203
2003 = 321
2004 = 535 - NB: This is when MDOCUK started up.
2005 = 682
2006 = 699
2007 = 681
2008 = 634
2009 = 608
2010 = 525
2011 = 465
2012 = 421
2013 = 380
2014 = 363
2015 = 311
2016 = 294
2017 = 244
2018 = 236
So it looks like they got really popular in 2006 and so people bought them, run them into the ground, as offroad toys, then started scrapping them, notably more so after three years.
I guess 2019 will be even less and next year even less again. But on the positive side....
Those of us who have them are now in a very small niche group of Rare Car Owners.
I bet there are more Ferrarri's and Lamborghini's out there than Deli's

320k kms!
The clocks are all in kms, right? Even though they have a converted milometer, is the milegae strictly speaking kilometreage? |

No, on the L300 when you fit the Kmh to Mph converter it also changes the odometer to Miles.
Without the converter the readings are all in Kms.
The converter is really just a small gearbox with ratio 1 to 0.625 reduction. _________________ Ian.

It would not be possible to gauge the number of Delicas based on members on this site; many who contribute here are not members, and many registered on here may no longer have a Delica, and some, like you, Steve, have 2 or more! _________________ Andy C L300 Super Exceed - over 100 smiles per gallon! |

Especially when the 12,400+ members on here are from all over the world. _________________

I've never asked them, but what would be the point of joining an owners club for info on keeping the vehicle running if you don't have one. _________________

Many have joined long ago when they had one, but may since have 'lost' their Deli. _________________ Andy C L300 Super Exceed - over 100 smiles per gallon! |

hi Andy
i wasn't thinking of guessing or extrapolating, unless there is a specific data mining process that might apply ... rather establishing a data base of uk registered vehicles
by reg number or vin or whatever
it would be interesting to know where the unregistered ones are too, for breaker / spares
just thinking out loud _________________ 2.8 1994 L400 LWB blue/grey Super Exceed
