Hi, I reckon I'm going to need to replace a few brake lines come the MOT Sad
Can anyone gives me details of what size fittings I'll need and recommend a flaring tool?

Thanks

Some info about that on a previous post on the same issue:- http://www.MDOCUK.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=48035

I also noted something across on the Deli Facebook site about a compnay called Hal Performance that has supplied some smart pipes in blue. Look for the post by Neil Kirby.

I've had a play with the cheaper kits before and didn't get brilliant results  Sad

The vice part of the flaring tool produced a small notch on the pipe which refused to seal and leaked.

I ended up getting a pipe made from a Company called thread and pipe, which they made quickly as I watched. It was a long pipe and cost around £15.

They used a copper and zinc, or something type pipe which you can easily bend yourself by hand, better than just copper.

Give them a rough measurement and I'm sure they post. A very interesting business with lots of Interesting bits and bobs to look at.

Thanks guys.

I've seen the kit mentioned in the post Lewis linked and fancy doing it myself.

Out Of Interest - How did you get on making your own pipe Derek?

I love doing this sort of thing myself but also weigh up how much the tool costs as per getting an expert to do it etc etc.

If you've found a decent cheapish kit that works - stick it on  Question  Smile

The LWB's SORNed and I'll be doing whatever pipes are need on that once the SWB's passed.

See my first post.

Getting a long pipe made, approx £15. That was from master cylinder, around bulkhead to nearside front wheel.

Must be 4' to 5' length?

The smaller ones will of course be cheaper.

Decent old school garages will still make them, or check out the link in my previous post to. "Thread and pipe"  Smile

I had two front-to-back brake pipes made and fitted by my MoT garage on my Rover last year; cost about £100, incl bleeding. Expecting something similar on the Delica this year (next month) as it was advisory last year.
