Hi all

I am having trouble removing my rear roof spoiler - all screws removed, but the thing won't budge, there are still the two clamps either side which seem to be holding it rock tight - do I just try and move with a rubber mallet or is there something I am missing here.

Wanting to install a new ladder and need to remove the spoiler for this.

Cheers
Kurt

I assume you have removed the two bolts on the top, one either side, that go right through to the inner side of the tailgate.:-

Those go through small collets which are raised up to be just proud of the tailgate skin.

you need to bend the two flanges down the side of the tailgate, that fasten onto the strut brackets.

That will allow you to lift up and off the riased edge to get the spoiler away from the tailgate.

Thanks - yes, I had removed the two screws on top and of course the ones either side at the end of the bracket (on the photos). So are you saying I need to bend back (with some force) the brackets (where I had removed the screws) on either side which are snuggly around the edge of the tailgate? Thanks.

That's what I had to do to get mine off, so I could remove my Terzo ladder when the Deli went in For a full respray.

Also note that there are small adhesive patches between the spoiler legs and the outside of the tailgate skin.

If your in the mind for a bit of fussing about you can try to lever the areas where the bolts go so that they lift up and off the raised edges of the collets, then you can slide the spoiler off.

Thanks, though not sure how I'd lever the area on the top without potentially damaging the tailgate skin or putting too much pressure on things... but will have a fiddle around this weekend! Cheers
