Hi Folks,

Recently took the Chamonix to that London.
I picked a Sunday to have half a chance of finding somewhere to park and not getting clobbered with the congestion zone thing.
FFWD to a week later and a penalty notice plops onto the mat for driving my 3L V6 in a snowflake zone
Its only a 2006 and passed its MOT no probs.
Does anyone know what scoop is vis  getting an import verified as compliant or whatever?
Cheers
PC

You can check the vehicle here for both zones:-

https://tfl.gov.uk/modes/driving/ultra-low-emission-zone

Check your V5 as it depends on the vehicle type noted on import. - Car, Van, Commercial, PLG etc.
Mine is "motor caravan" and is free for LEZ, but costs for ULEZ (it's diesel).

The ULEZ (ultra low emission zone) replaced the LEZ (low emission zone) within the confines of the congestion charge zone, the LEZ is only for diesel commercial vehicles, the ULEZ is for all vehicles and operates 24 hours a day 7 days a week unlike the congestion zone which is Monday to Friday 6am to 6pm

I think lol

The ULEZ is only operational in the very centre of London at the moment but is going to be expanded to the whole congestion zone in 2021.

This covers the overview:
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-47815117

There are a number of other towns also considering LEZs. Southampton have decided against it at the moment probably because the docks is a huge part of the local economy which involves fuel oil burning ships, tankers, cargo and cruise liners, which in turn are serviced by diesel burning trucks and trains.
Fifth worst air quality in the country :-)
